Small groups are where God powerfully grows disciples! Jesus knows the power of small groups. He called his twelve disciples into a small group of his own. There they came to know and trust each other and Jesus could teach and nurture their faith and growth. Small groups nurture other small groups over time to continue the good work to which Jesus calls us. The Lord continues to use small groups today. At Northkirk we believe that the fullness of our community life and mission outreach begins in small groups.
Small groups meet once a week or twice per month. They can be focused on a ministry to the church or the surrounding community. Small groups use God’s word to teach, inspire, and care for growing disciples and their service to others. They meet on different days and times so there’s likely one that will fit your life.
Being part of a small group will challenge and grow you into what the Lord desires! Growth is transformation. The apostle Paul reminded those in the early church at Rome, “… Be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” Everyone should be growing and helping another grow, that’s the gift of being in a church community.
